PMR Products have supplied many software dispatcher systems into the UK passenger transport market for many years. Our latest product, Vigilant BCX provides a powerful means of managing bus fleets over Band 3 analogue trunked radio networks.
The BCX software has been supplied since the early 1990's initially through Philips Telecom under the names GX250, GX450 and GX550. These software packages are designed to link into the radio control infrastructure and provide various tools for managing the fleet. Some 30 systems where installed over a 10 year period.
Vigilant BCX was developed in the early 2000's and took the facilities offered by the GX packages and applied them into a networked Windows environment. The software integrates with a variety of different hardware platforms through direct connection into the radio switch (TN10X) or through radio dispatchers using the MAP27 protocol. The BCX software offers a range of functions for handling;
- Voice calls from buses to depot
- Status updates from drivers
- Personal alarms
- Audio recording and archive
- Ticket machine fare stage information updates
- Generation of reports
The system has a facility for distributing call and status inormation to a number of PC workstations over a standard IP network. The Work Plan allows the programming of the distribution of calls and data to specific workstations and this can change throughput the day. In this way a single workstation can manage all calls at night, for example.
PMR can also offer a range of appropriate equipment on the Band3 radio band from Tait Europe programmed to suit the requirements of the system and Vigilant BCX.
