The Requirement:
PMR Products are seeking to fill a vacancy, within our technical department, to support, our current and new range of wireless products.
To be based in our Chepstow Office, we are looking for a person with enthusiasm, drive, and basic skills in electronics, and/or an IT discipline, who wishes to develop, via inhouse and onsite training, over an extended period.
There is potential to expand duties over time for multi skilled individuals.
Work sites are varied, but there is a particular requirement currently for construction site installation and commissioning work, a CSCS card would be an advantage but not essential.

About You:
You will have some basic experience, or training, in electronics, digital private mobile radio, and/or an IT background, but more importantly an interest to learn and develop your skills.
Ideally you may already be a technician, in an Electrotechnical field or EX Armed forces tech, with experience of installation as well as maintenance and support of systems that involve many and varied skills.
Although based in Chepstow you will be required to travel around the UK, therefore you should possess a full UK driving licence. There may requirement from time to time to stay away from home for short periods.
Ideally, you will have a minimum HNC/D level qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as Electronic and Electrical Engineering.
Relevant skills:
- An interest or experience in wireless systems
- Mechanical and equipment installation skills
- Ability or interest in the configuration of IP based systems and wireless networks
- Ability to work in a team and to work alone on assignments
- A good diagnostic mind to deal with fault conditions and correction
- A good communicator who can deal with customers and suppliers both written and verbally
- Working within internal and external project teams
- Knowledge of electrical installation would be beneficial
Your duties will consist of:
- Installation of our equipment on site
- Testing and configuring of systems and end user terminals on and off site.
- Configuration of PC based software and installing and supporting our software.
- Providing customers with a variety of support services, including but not limited to, remote and on-site support potentially within and out of hours.
- Using and preparing documentation for in house and client teams.
- Performing administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
- Investigating, isolating, and driving problems reported by customer, to a closure.
