TETRA
TETRA is the digital radio technology designed for users requiring high levels of security and functionality and is specifically aimed at top end safety critical applications.
TETRA has the advantage of being developed for the emergency services market, designed with integrity as the key driver. Like DMR, TETRA mixes data and audio very effectively and it also offers duplex operation, providing simultaneous communication between both people on a call, giving a similar user experience to a mobile phone.
TETRA has a very sophisticated infrastructure where the control functions are handled transparently, and voice channels are allocated in demand from a pool of the available resource.

Control Room Solutions
Integrating Hytera radios with SafetyNet™ Client provides a complete control room solution for monitoring and reporting on two-way radio communications and automating and co-ordinating responses. SafetyNet™ Locator can be added to provide location monitoring so that incidents reacted to swiftly and radio users can be deployed effectively, and third party applications can be added for additional functionality.
Location Monitoring
To monitor Hytera radios externally SafetyNet™ Locator software makes use of the integrated GPS function in Hytera two-way radios, tracking them and presenting the information in real-time on maps.
For indoor location monitoring Hytera DMR and TETRA radios can be fitted with an internal module which decodes signals from nearby beacons and used the radio to transmit location information to SafetyNet™ Locator software, which presents the information in real-time on schematic building plans. The internal fitting conceals and protects the tracking device.
SafetyNet™ Locator can be fully integrated into SafetyNet™ Client control room solutions.
